http://<your site>/index2.php?option=com_sefservicemap&task=googlemap

Regards,
Radek.

Re:And where is the XML file now? - 2007/01/09 06:30 Hi,

Very cool component i was looking for something just like this. It installed perfectly and i have it running in my site. There is only one problem. When i try to submit the map at google webmaster tools it says that the following address: "http://ultrabravo.com/joomla/index2.php?option=com_sefservicemap&task=googlemap"
is not valid, do you have any idea why? also why doesn't the address end in ".xml".

Thank you very much, any help would be appreciated.

Re:And where is the XML file now? - 2007/02/01 20:58 Hi

I've solved the issue by using mod_rewrite.

In your .htaccess file do something like this:

RewriteRule ^sitemap.xml$ index2.php?option=com_sefservicemap&task=googlemap [L]

... it should work.

Re:Odp:Re:And where is the XML file now? - 2007/02/18 06:42 How exactly are we supposed to know that is the address to find the sitemap in?

I've had trouble with this when submiting to sites like Ask.com. It appears some engines like to see an actual xml file instead of a dynamically created one.

Thanks for the post. Excellent way to solve the problem. I had to add this rule near the top of my htaccess file to get it to work. I'm no ace with htaccess but shouldn't it be preceded with a RewiteCond? For instance (to force removal of www form the domain) I have:

Code:

  RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www\.(.*)$ RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://%1/$1 [R=301,L]

Re:And where is the XML file now? - 2007/08/12 04:34 Hello. I'm trying to set this up for Google News. First off, the url for viewing the sitemap is not working for me. A page never loads. Is there a limit to this component on how many content items you can have? We have about 10,000 items.

Also, Google News needs an additional urlset item in the xml feed. Where would I go in your component files to add it? Thanks!

Re:And where is the XML file now? - 2007/11/22 09:11 Hi,

I sent this URL "http://MY_SITE/index2.php?option=com_sefservicemap&task=googlemap" to Google few times with no result.

If I send that to Google it says that this URL is not valid.

I tried to change .htacces but wasn't sure where to rewrite it.

Please, let someone give me solution.

Thanks!
