virtuemart and erroneous lastmod date - 2007/11/20 20:04 The XML listing of all my virtuemart products includes the <lastmod> tag which seems to default to a date of: 1969-12-31

A mystery at first. But, looking into the virtuemart product editor I see that this coincides with the default setting of the product_availability_date field (who choose this?!?). Mystery solved!

However, after changing that field for all my products and confirming that the VM table has the newer date. The XML map continues to show

<lastmod>1969-12-31</lastmod>

I've cleared and disabled all map and site cache's, reloaded and still this persists ?!?

Please advise.

Have you solve your problem?

There is another strange thing. I get ?flypage=0 at the links I get for all productspage of vm. Normally the sef link has no ?flypage=0 text in it. How can I get ride of this ?flypage=0.

any help is welcome

What I ended up doing was hacking the SEF map code to remove the <lastmod> tag from the xml version of the map altogether.

Alternatively you can open your xml map in a text editor and do a 'Find/Replace All' on the erroneous date.

Re:virtuemart and erroneous lastmod date - 2008/02/28 08:43 I have add extracode in the php to change the lastmod date to "present date"just before the echo lastmod. So the lastmod date is always "actual"
