sef 1.4 - 2007/06/19 21:13 Greetings all!

I just upgraded to the new sef map 1.4 and I also added the new bot for bookmarks. First changeing the config in the bot seems to have no effect. The sitemap.zml file remains the same. I thought it would add the 1-10 and daily,weekly etc. So i thought well the new format does not support it. So i went ahead and made the new sitemap.xml and urllist.txt (BULLY for this addtion thanks).

Today I went to my google webmaster pages and founfd that the sitemap.xml has errors on format. I thought it was mistake and made and re-submiyed a new one. It to has errors and is rejected by google on format.

Please help

In my opinion You must unpublish "shop" menu from sitemap, because this is a external link (to external shop), and try again. I hope, it help You.

I did as you said and unpublished "SHOP"

I then created the new sitemap with sef 1.4 and re-submitted it in google.
In one minute they posted this:
Sitemap errors for http://woodworlds.com/sitemap.xml
This Sitemap has the following errors.

Errors
Unsupported file format
Your Sitemap does not appear to be in a supported format. Please ensure it meets our Sitemap guidelines and resubmit. [?] Date found: Jun 20, 2007


I noticed unlike 1.3 when you create the sitemap and use file save in the browser the file is "0" bytes. I have to select all and copy and paste the file.

Also the BOT has no effect on the file out put for prioity or daily , weekly etc.

Since google has a hissy fit when you have errors I would like to resolve this asap.

Tried everything and still unable to make a sitemap.xml file.

This link brings up sef servicemap 1.4 try it and see for you self. You can't save the map file it comes out as zero bytes (taxt files is aok). So copy and paste the file. Google rejects the files as invavlid format.

http://woodworlds.com/component/option,com_sefservicemap/Itemid,205/ for site map its makes the file but you can't save it (zero bytes). If you copy and paste it, google says file format is incorrect.
