Sitemap address invalid with SEF enabled. - 2007/02/18 06:48
Hi,
I am trying to access the sitemap xlm so I can submit it to google, but it does not work when I have SEF enabled. I use JoomSEF.
When I try to access this:
http://www.foundground.com/index2.php?option=com_sefservicemap&task=googlemap
I get this:
XML Parsing Error: no element found
Location: http://www.foundground.com/index2.php?option=com_sefservicemap&task=googlemap
Line Number 5090, Column 1:
If I disabled SEF, I can view the XML file, which contains a lot of URLs in this format:
http://www.foundground.com/content/view/842/2/
Though with SEF enabled, they would be like this:
http://www.foundground.com/odd-and-interesting-news/dog-eats-turtle-turtle-lives-2.html
I also added this line to my .htaccess, as suggested in another thread:
RewriteRule ^sitemap.xml$ index2.php?option=com_sefservicemap&task=googlemap [L]
Is it not a lot better to submit SEF URLs to google in my sitemaps? Any way around this problem?
