Parse error - 2007/08/13 09:39 Hi. I just tried installing JAccelerator. When I went to the "select components" page and told it to cache my content, I got the following error:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_OBJECT_OPERATOR in /home/israelwi/public_html/janglo/components/com_joomlacache/components.php on line 56

I couldn't even get back to that page to change the settings, so I had to uninstall it. Any ideas why this is happening, and how to make it work?
Thanks.

Re:Parse error - 2007/11/01 22:36 Hi Everyone. I too had this problem and I figured out what the problem is. One of my components was corrupt and JAccelerator could not access it. How I found out was

1) Remember what "line" the arror was on
2) Open components.php in a text editor (prefered one you can tell what line you want, I used Homesite) . Its located public_html/components/com_joomlacache/components.php

3) go to the line that had the error. Mine was line 41

This was my line 41 and 42

$com_joomla-visites->cache=0;
$com_joomla-visites->time=900;

I had discovered Joomla Visites plugin was causing the problem.

4) close the program
5) uninstall Jaccelerator and the problem component (mine again Joomla Visites)

6) for safety. I went into FTP to public_html/components/ to make sure the com_joomla_visites folder was gone. It was. if not , delete the problem folder.

7) Reinstall Jaccelerator and Volla! It worked for me
